Why you need a GloriaFood alternative at all

Oracle acquired GloriaFood in 2021 and has since issued an end-of-life notice for the product. The published retirement date is 30 April 2027. There is no Oracle-built successor and no announced self-service migration tool, so every restaurant on the platform has to move somewhere before that date.

The part that catches people out is not the software — it is the links. Your GloriaFood ordering URL is sitting in your website's Order button, your Google Business Profile, your Instagram bio, your Facebook page and any QR codes you have printed. All of those become dead ends on the same day.

What to look for in a replacement

Most restaurants used GloriaFood for one reason: it took orders without taking a cut. If you replace it with a delivery marketplace you solve the software problem and create a bigger margin problem. Four things worth checking before you commit:

• Commission model. A flat monthly fee is predictable. A percentage punishes your best weeks — and marketplace rates of 15–30% are common.
• Who owns the guest. On your own ordering link, the email address and order history are yours. On a marketplace they are not.
• Whether bookings are included. GloriaFood handled reservations through the separate FoodBooking app, which is also being retired. Running two tools is two migrations.
• Migration help. Rebuilding a full menu with modifiers by hand is a long evening. Ask whether it is done for you, and whether it costs anything.
